A person whose online Internet
activities (usually Usenet postings) make them appear to be a
kook.
And a "kook" is:
An extremely eccentric, irrational, or
certifiably insane person, generally (though not always) held to
be annoying but harmless.
Being the webmaster of RowdyRuff.net
exposes me to the underbelly of the Internet (and AOL, too). I'm
not talking about the tens of "can i prease have a fanart setion"
messages that grace my e-mail account each day. Those are just
young (and not so young) kids who don't have a lot of experience
using computers. I'm referring to the truenet
kooks out there. These clueless wonders have decided that
it's their purpose in life to send me their Earth-shattering
ideas about the PPGs.
I have compiled some of the highlights I
have received over this website's short existence. Read
on...if you dare!
I get tons of e-mail each day. Most of
them are lucid messages from intelligent people. Then there are
the messages like these. The net kooks. Who knows their
motivation? What is it they want from me? The world may never
know. The names have been changed to protect the idiotic.
As cutting-edge technology opens new pathways of
communication on the information superhighway, the net
kooks will be there to take advantage of it. As usual, the names have been changed to protect the
guilty.
